What You'll Do11
- 1Lead full lifecycle design of structural elements and mechanical systems for spacecraft hardware
- 2Generate 3D models and assembly documentation for flight and test environments
- 3Create command media for hardware assembly and verification processes
- 4Conduct subsystem testing including data analysis and interpretation
- 5Develop specifications and coordinate suppliers for component fabrication
- 6Provide manufacturing support and troubleshoot production issues
- 7Design non‑flight proof of concept hardware for rapid prototyping initiatives
- 8Adapt to shifting priorities within an agile development team
- 9Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to integrate mechanical solutions into overall vehicle architecture
- 10Maintain compliance with ASME Y14.5 standards throughout design activities
- 11Utilize FEM tools such as Nastran and ANSYS to validate structural integrity
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 25+ years designing complex mechanical products
- 3Proficiency with CAD software and GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- 4Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance required
- 5Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- 6U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- 7Experience with rapid hardware development methodologies
- 8Familiarity with systems engineering and quality control practices
- 9Preference for spacecraft structure design experience
- 10Ability to perform hand calculations and finite element analysis
- 11Background in optimization and DOE techniques
