What You'll Do10
- 1Design and update mechanical parts and assemblies in 3D and 2D with SolidWorks, ensuring manufacturability and performance.
- 2Review junior engineers' designs and provide feedback to improve quality and adherence to standards.
- 3Own and maintain accurate BOMs for assigned projects, aligning with design changes.
- 4Develop product quotes and support cost analysis for new and existing projects.
- 5Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical designs with project goals and manufacturing capabilities.
- 6Manage project documentation and lifecycle data within PDM and ERP systems.
- 7Apply GD&T standards to designs and documentation to ensure precision in manufacturing and quality control.
- 8Design with awareness of CNC machining, lathes, and laser cutting to optimize fabrication.
- 9Write and review technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- 10Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices and documentation standards.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of professional mechanical engineering or design experience, excluding academic work.
- 2High proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D CAD and related design tools.
- 3Hands-on experience with aluminum, welding, and machining processes.
- 4Familiarity with CNC, lathe, and laser cutting equipment and their design implications.
- 5Practical application of GD&T standards in design and documentation.
- 6Experience managing BOMs and ensuring accuracy across project documentation.
- 7Experience using PDM and ERP systems for product data and lifecycle management.
- 8Ability to write detailed technical reports and documentation.
