Materials Management Specialist II, Manufacturing & Procurement
Overview
Materials management ownership at scale within a battery manufacturing context. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, supplier coordination, and material flow to keep production running on time. You will partner with suppliers, internal teams, and HQ to maintain accurate records and address material needs. This role brings a hands-on, growth-focused environment with cross functional collaboration and a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and manage purchase orders for raw materials from pre determined suppliers and maintain accurate purchasing records
- 2Review material requirements and production needs to determine order timing and quantities based on purchasing plans
- 3Monitor open purchase orders, shipment schedules, and delivery dates and follow up on delays or issues that may impact production
- 4Communicate order requirements, quantity changes, and delivery expectations with suppliers
- 5Negotiate transportation and freight costs for raw material shipments
- 6Track material shortages and delivery risks and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve
- 7Maintain PO, shipment, pricing, inventory, and related purchasing data in systems ensuring accuracy
- 8Prepare regular purchasing, shipment, and material status updates for Materials Management and headquarters
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations, or related field
- 23+ years of experience in materials management, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
- 3Experience with purchase orders, supplier communication, inventory monitoring, or materials planning
- 4Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems
- 5Manufacturing experience preferred
- 6On site work with flexible hours based on business needs
- 7Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple purchasing activities
- 8Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining purchasing and inventory data
- 9Ability to analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify supply or delivery concerns
- 10Effective written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- 11Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
