Buyer II - Procurement and Material Management
Overview
Buyer II to support procurement and material availability for precision motor manufacturing operations in West Chester Pennsylvania. This role manages assigned suppliers and commodities while partnering with internal teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow and optimize inventory. The ideal candidate combines strong purchasing expertise analytical capability ERP MRP proficiency and supplier management experience with a continuous improvement mindset.
What You'll Do10
- 1Manage procurement activities for assigned direct material suppliers and commodities including RFQ purchase order placement supplier commitments expedites reschedules and supply continuity planning
- 2Utilize ERP MRP planning outputs and data analytics to manage material requirements identify supply risks and ensure timely replenishment
- 3Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on delivery performance quality responsiveness capacity planning and continuous improvement
- 4Monitor supplier lead times promise dates inventory exposure and open order status to proactively mitigate shortages and production disruptions
- 5Partner with Strategic Sourcing Engineering Quality Planning and Manufacturing on new product introductions engineering changes supplier qualification efforts and corrective actions
- 6Analyze procurement inventory and supplier performance data using advanced Excel and ERP reporting tools to support operational decision making and drive performance improvements
- 7Support inventory optimization initiatives through effective management of replenishment parameters lead times order policies and supplier performance
- 8Lead supplier recovery activities and root cause investigations related to delivery quality and capacity constraints
- 9Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes ERP MRP execution supplier performance and overall supply chain effectiveness
- 10Ensure compliance with applicable quality requirements customer requirements and regulatory obligations supporting customers
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain management Business Operations or equivalent degree required with relevant experience preferred
- 2Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing planning materials management or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3Strong ERP MRP experience with demonstrated understanding of material planning replenishment processes supplier lead times inventory management and purchase order execution Kanban PFEP replenishment systems
- 4Microsoft Excel proficiency including analysis of large datasets development of analytical models data validation and support of fact based decision making
- 5Proven experience managing international suppliers and driving improvements in delivery responsiveness and supply performance
- 6Ability to prioritize problem solve and execute effectively in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- 7Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and collaborate cross functionally
