Sr. Specialist Materials Management, LG Energy Solution Arizona
Overview
Own raw materials purchasing and supplier relationships at scale to ensure material availability and cost efficiency for manufacturing. You will lead complex sourcing activities, manage VMI, and coordinate with headquarters in South Korea to align on cost changes and supply status. This role differs by combining global collaboration with hands-on purchasing leadership on site in Phoenix.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead raw materials purchasing activities to support production requirements and monitor supplier performance, pricing, delivery schedules, and material availability
- 2Develop and maintain supplier relationships to address shortages, delays, pricing concerns, and other supply-related issues
- 3Manage Vendor Managed Inventory VMI activities and monitor inventory coverage to maintain raw material supply
- 4Review material demand purchasing requirements and inventory trends to prevent shortages or excess inventory
- 5Evaluate transportation and logistics options and negotiate freight costs to improve purchasing efficiency
- 6Coordinate escalated purchasing shipment and material availability issues across functions and with headquarters
- 7Prepare regular updates and reports to headquarters regarding purchasing status supplier activity inventory conditions and cost changes
- 8Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes supplier performance cost efficiency and material availability
- 9Provide guidance on purchasing processes supplier issues and material planning to team members
- 10Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Logistics Operations or related field preferred
- 27+ years of experience in materials management procurement supply chain purchasing logistics or related field
- 3Demonstrated experience with supplier sourcing negotiation purchasing and supplier relationship management
- 4Experience supporting raw materials purchasing within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- 5Ability to work on-site and coordinate with global teams across time zones
