
Materials Planner, Supply Chain & Procurement
Overview
Own the end to end material planning process for production at scale within a fast moving environment. You will ensure timely procurement and delivery of project materials to meet production targets and maximize productivity. Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to negotiate terms and drive cost reductions. This role blends analytics, vendor management, and strategic process improvements to support market leadership.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build material plans that align with production schedules and lead times to meet targets
- 2Design and execute strategies to reduce material costs while maintaining quality Materials and Inventory controls
- 3Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and on time delivery
- 4Own weekly material availability reviews and risk mitigation for supply disruptions
- 5Scale and optimize purchase orders, lead times, and safety stock levels with Excel and data tools
- 6Drive cross functional collaboration with procurement, production, and logistics to improve cycle times
- 7Ship accurate demand forecasts and material requirements to production teams
- 8Debug and resolve material shortages and backlog during peak demand
- 9Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
- 22+ years of experience in material planning or procurement in a manufacturing environment
- 3Strong analytical skills with data driven decision making and Microsoft Excel proficiency
- 4Experience with supplier negotiations and contract terms
- 5Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX and collaborate with cross functional teams
- 6Knowledge of inventory management and material requirements planning (MRP) concepts
- 7Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- 8Attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities
