Material Handler, Warehouse & Shipping
Overview
You will own the full cycle of warehouse operations at our Indianapolis site, processing inbound and outbound shipments for a temperature-controlled environment. You will handle Oracle inventory systems, ensure cGMP compliance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to keep manufacturing running. This role sits on a team of 5-10 material handlers, reporting to the warehouse lead. You will pick, pack, and ship orders with exact documentation, while maintaining FIFO and lot traceability. This is an onsite, Monday-Friday role with potential overtime during peak seasons, ideal for someone who thrives on precision and teamwork.
What You'll Do9
- 1Receive and store purchased and inter-company transferred goods, verifying quantities against packing lists and POs within 24 hours of receipt.
- 2Pick and pack items for outbound shipments, labeling with FIFO dates, lot numbers, and shipping temperature requirements.
- 3Operate hand trucks and pallet movers to move materials, maintaining a safe and organized warehouse floor.
- 4Enter inventory transactions into Oracle and perform daily cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- 5Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs paperwork, to meet carrier requirements for FedEx and UPS.
- 6Coordinate with Customer Service and Manufacturing to prioritize shipments and resolve delivery issues promptly.
- 7Inspect incoming materials for damage and discrepancies, reporting issues to the lead and purchasing team.
- 8Maintain cleanliness and organization of the distribution area, following cGMP and ISO protocols.
- 9Support physical inventories and quarterly peak periods with required overtime as scheduled.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent required; 0-2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
- 2Demonstrated ability to lift, tug, or pull up to 75 pounds and work in refrigerator/freezer environments for 15 minutes at a time.
- 3Basic computer skills with experience using Oracle or similar ERP systems preferred.
- 4Working knowledge of hand trucks, pallet movers, and warehouse safety practices.
- 5Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- 6Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams.
- 7Willingness to wear required PPE (lab coat, gloves, safety glasses) and safety shoes.
- 8Experience with inbound/outbound shipping and receiving in a GMP environment highly preferred.
- 9Ability to work overtime during peak periods and physical inventories as needed.
Salary Insight
$44 - $50k per year
