Material Handler II - Forklift & Warehouse Operations
Overview
You will move materials between cells and the central warehouse, verifying part numbers and quantities while keeping inventory accurate. Operating PIT and forklifts daily, you handle unloading, put-away, and order filling in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Working with a team of 20+ operators, you report to the warehouse supervisor and coordinate with production cells to keep lines running. This role offers stable hours (2:30pm-11:00pm) and full benefits, with cross-training opportunities on sit-down and stand-up equipment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Unload incoming trailers, verify part numbers and quantities against Bills of Material, and move stock to designated storage areas.
- 2Operate PIT (sit-down and stand-up) to pick orders from rack and bin systems, fulfilling production requests within 24 hours.
- 3Drive forklifts and pallet jacks to transport materials between departments, following routing tickets and delivery orders.
- 4Conduct bin maintenance, cycle counts, and inventory transactions in the G&W business system, ensuring stock accuracy within 99%.
- 5Load outgoing trucks using hand trucks or lift trucks, securing loads to prevent damage during transit.
- 6Inspect all materials and work before passing to the next operation, documenting actions on production and quality forms.
- 7Train new material handlers on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures, contributing to team efficiency.
- 8Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following safety protocols and reporting hazards immediately.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 23-5 years operating PIT or forklift equipment.
- 3Valid forklift certification and ability to pass written and practical evaluations.
- 4Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 5High school diploma or GED.
- 6Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 40 pounds frequently.
- 7Comfortable with continuous standing and walking, frequent bending and squatting.
- 8Intermediate computer skills for inventory systems and data entry.
