Material Handler I
Overview
You will own the flow of goods in our San Diego warehouse, handling receiving, order picking, storage, packaging, and shipping for medical device components. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials and maintain accurate inventory records. You will work within a lean, ISO 13485-compliant environment, collaborating with internal teams to resolve shipment issues. What You'll Do9
- 1Receive, pick, store, package, and ship materials using ERP and barcode scanners to ensure transaction accuracy.
- 2Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and auto bag machines to move and dispense materials, including calibrating equipment.
- 3Label and package products per customer specifications, using ISO 13485 guidelines to maintain compliance.
- 4Perform cycle counts and validation measures to improve inventory accuracy by 10% within the first quarter.
- 5Resolve missing packages, incorrect deliveries, and damaged goods by coordinating with internal departments.
- 6Maintain a clean and organized work area, applying Lean principles and visual controls to reduce waste.
- 7Record all transactions in the ERP system and update logs to ensure real-time inventory visibility.
- 8Follow all safety protocols and use required PPE, including safety toe shoes, to prevent accidents.
- 9Support the team with daily priorities and assist in cross-training on warehouse equipment and procedures.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21+ year of experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment.
- 3Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English with clear communication skills.
- 4Proficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
- 5Accurate record-keeping and precise material handling skills.
- 6Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
- 7Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustment.
- 8Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- 9Work in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery, following OSHA standards.
