Material Handler, RF Scanner & Forklift in Indianapolis
Overview
Own material flow in a large manufacturing facility on 2nd or 3rd shift with high volume handling. Move, track, and document products using pallet jacks, tuggers, sit-down forklifts, and RF scanners. You will contribute to safety, accuracy, and productivity in a hot, dirty, oily environment. This role includes a structured training program and opportunities for internal growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and execute material handling tasks for 1,000 boxes per shift while maintaining safety and accuracy
- 2Operate electric and manual pallet jacks and tuggers to move carts filled with materials across the facility
- 3Occasionally operate a sit-down forklift to move palletized products safely and accurately
- 4Push full carts containing 72 containers per cart approximately 10 times per day to maintain flow
- 5Use an RF scanner to track inventory and ensure proper picking, packing, and order fulfillment
- 6Weigh products and packaging according to customer specifications to ensure correct quantities
- 7Accurately document materials, batch numbers, and related information per company guidelines
- 8Follow safety procedures when using material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tuggers, and forklifts
- 9Participate in a structured training program combining lectures and hands-on instruction
- 10Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Requirements10
- 1Experience as a Forklift or Tugger Operator with safe operation of material-handling equipment
- 2Experience as an Order Selector or similar role involving picking, packing, and inventory handling
- 3At least 1+ year of tenure in prior roles demonstrating reliability and consistency
- 4Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory tracking and order picking
- 5Experience with pallet jacks (manual and electric), tuggers, and sit-down forklifts
- 6Ability to repeatedly lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds and push heavy carts
- 7Comfort working in a hot, dirty, oily department while maintaining safety and productivity
- 8Willingness to participate in a structured training program with lecture-style and hands-on instruction
- 9Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift after completing training on 1st shift
- 10Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures in a high-volume environment
