Overview

You will own manufacturing processes for composite and metal assemblies in a defense and space environment, driving quality and throughput. You will troubleshoot on the shop floor daily, working with CNC machining, SolidWorks tooling design, and Lean methods. You will collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and support new product introduction. What You'll Do8

  • 1Troubleshoot production issues on the shop floor and resolve them in real time.
  • 2Develop and document detailed work instructions for composite lay-up, bonding, and assembly.
  • 3Design tooling and fixtures in SolidWorks to improve manufacturability and safety.
  • 4Drive Lean continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and cycle time.
  • 5Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • 6Support process validation for CNC machining and composite processes.
  • 7Contribute to new product introduction by refining manufacturing processes.
  • 8Optimize workflows and parameters for CNC machining centers and composite equipment.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or composites.
  • 2Hands-on shop floor support with troubleshooting and process improvement.
  • 3Experience with composite manufacturing: lay-up, bonding, and assembly.
  • 4Experience with CNC machining and process parameter refinement.
  • 5Ability to create work instructions and process documentation.
  • 6Proficiency in SolidWorks for tooling design.
  • 7Strong Lean and process improvement background.
  • 8Preferred: experience under AS9100 or ISO9001.
  • 9Preferred: exposure to NPI and production readiness.
