Production Technician, Composite Manufacturing
Overview
Production Technician owns composite manufacturing operations at Karman Space & Defense, supporting hypersonic and strategic missile defense programs. You will produce composite assemblies using tape wrapping, compression molding, and hand layup, ensuring components meet ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. Work with a team of engineers and technicians on mission-critical hardware, inspecting materials and adjusting equipment. This first-shift role offers direct impact on national defense projects and requires U.S. person status.
What You'll Do8
- 1Complete work orders and travelers according to production schedules.
- 2Apply ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards in daily composite work.
- 3Perform tape wrapping, cutting, compression molding, and hand layup for composite materials.
- 4Measure and visually inspect products using precision instruments to confirm conformance.
- 5Mix and measure resin and adhesive materials.
- 6Adjust oven temperature controls and review blueprints to determine methods or sequences.
- 7Maintain production and processing equipment.
- 8Perform upper-body mobility tasks including bending, using arms and hands, and standing for extended periods.
Requirements9
- 12-3 years of experience in composite manufacturing or related field.
- 2Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 3Ability to perform repetitive motion.
- 4Constant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 8 hours.
- 5Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, stooping, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs.
- 6Prolonged repetitive movement, and holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands.
- 7Occasional reaching overhead, at shoulder level, and below shoulder level.
- 8Occasional forklift driving.
- 9U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.
