Maintenance Technician, K-12 Campus Facilities
Overview
You will own the upkeep, functionality, and safety of the Dwight Englewood School facilities, serving a K-12 campus in New York. Your work spans HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, plus carpentry and snow removal. You will join a Facilities team of 8 and report to the Facilities Manager. This role offers the chance to work independently across a dynamic school environment, with a focus on preventive maintenance and safety.
What You'll Do8
- 1Repair and maintain HVAC units, electrical panels, and plumbing fixtures across school buildings.
- 2Perform carpentry tasks such as door repairs, shelving installation, and furniture assembly.
- 3Assist with snow removal during winter months, using shovels and snow blowers.
- 4Inspect and troubleshoot building systems, including lighting and security systems.
- 5Document work orders and maintenance logs using Excel and Word.
- 6Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and equipment servicing.
- 7Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following school safety protocols.
- 8Complete preventative maintenance tasks on schedule, such as filter changes and belt replacements.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certifications preferred.
- 23+ years in building maintenance or facilities operations, ideally in K-12 settings.
- 3Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repair techniques.
- 4Valid motor vehicle operator's license required.
- 5Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varied weather conditions.
- 6Computer literacy with Excel, Word, Google Docs, and Email.
- 7Physical stamina for climbing ladders and working in tight spaces.
