Maintenance Lead, Facility Maintenance & HVAC
Overview
You will own facility maintenance operations for a retail shopping center in Jersey City, NJ, overseeing a team of maintenance staff while performing hands-on repairs. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will coordinate work orders, ensure safety compliance, and maintain property standards. This role offers a chance to lead a team and apply HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing skills in a dynamic commercial environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead and direct the activities of all assigned maintenance employees, ensuring quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- 2Coordinate and complete all property work orders, prioritizing urgent repairs and preventive maintenance.
- 3Perform hands-on maintenance tasks including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire/Life Safety, Electrical & Lighting repairs, and drywall/painting.
- 4Plan and supervise snow and ice removal operations during winter, and landscaping tasks as needed.
- 5Support tenant construction projects as directed by the General Manager, ensuring compliance with building codes.
- 6Ensure safety awareness and compliance, documenting training and incident reports in employee files.
- 7Attend regular meetings and maintain open communication with the General Manager and Regional Manager.
- 8Drive a culture of safety, policy adherence, and company values among the maintenance team.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of experience in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical field.
- 2Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check.
- 3Knowledge of methods and techniques in electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance.
- 4Knowledge of local electrical and building codes.
- 5Physical strength and ability to perform routine or heavy manual tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting heavy equipment.
- 6Willingness to work off hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
- 7Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Windows-based software.
- 8Familiarity with Local, State, and Federal employment laws.
- 9Ability to make sound decisions under stress and meet deadlines.
