Maintenance Technician II, Facilities & Utility Work
Overview
Maintenance Tech II at Philadelphia University owns the repair, installation, and preventive upkeep of mechanical systems and building facilities across campus. What You'll Do10
- 1Operate all plant equipment: trucks, bobcat, high reach, tractors, man lifts, ladders, scaffolding.
- 2Complete labor-intensive jobs: furniture moving, painting, grounds keeping, leaf pickup, trash control, gutter cleaning, roof patching.
- 3Perform light bulb change-outs, general plant cleanup, activity setups and break downs, wall hanging, and signage installations.
- 4Clean out storage rooms, basements, hallways, mechanical rooms, and common areas.
- 5Execute key core changes as assigned.
- 6Handle snow removal as principle component with mandatory attendance.
- 7Complete minor repairs and supplemental custodial duties when required.
- 8Provide work order documentation feedback on trade and non-trade tasks.
- 9Maintain professional appearance and positive customer relations.
- 10Support university functions with special setups and events.
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 23 years of related experience required.
- 3Knowledge of safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for physical premises.
- 4Ability to adapt to changing environment and use tools for emergency preparedness and response.
- 5Knowledge of approaches for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical problems.
- 6Knowledge of HSE policy and ability to implement safety and environmental compliance.
- 7Knowledge of customer communication practices and techniques.
- 8Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs, push/pull up to 140 lbs, carry 80 lbs short distances, and perform frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
