Maintenance Technician III - Distribution Management
Overview
Senior technician responsible for providing guidance on repairs and serving as primary onsite point of contact for managers and supervisors. Perform preventative maintenance installations inspections and repairs on material handling equipment conveyor systems stretch wrappers and case sealers. Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance manager on major repairs facility projects and vendor relationships. This role differs by focusing on comprehensive maintenance oversight across multiple systems and includes travel to other DCs for hands-on support.
What You'll Do13
- 1Provide essential guidance on repairs and serve as primary onsite point of contact for managers and supervisors
- 2Perform preventative maintenance installations inspections and repairs on material handling equipment conveyor systems stretch wrappers and case sealers
- 3Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC plumbing lighting and dock equipment
- 4Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement long-term corrective solutions
- 5Troubleshoot conveyor controls sensors motors photo eyes VFDs and other automated equipment components
- 6Coordinate with maintenance manager on major equipment repairs facility projects capital improvements and vendor relationships
- 7Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors under direction of maintenance manager and oversee vendor work activities
- 8Assist with spare parts management by identifying critical inventory needs and recommending replacement parts
- 9Maintain accurate maintenance logs work orders preventative maintenance records downtime documentation and repair histories
- 10Keep tools equipment and maintenance work areas safe organized and operational
- 11Ensure compliance with safety policies lockout tagout procedures and regulatory requirements
- 12Provide after-hours or on-call maintenance support
- 13Travel to other DCs for hands-on support
Requirements8
- 1Five years experience as a maintenance technician
- 2Associates degree or certificate in technical education preferred
- 3Prior experience with conveyance electrical wiring motor controls sensors actuators and VFDs
- 4Ability to interpret electrical or mechanical schematics and manufacturer’s manuals
- 5Effective verbal and written communication to convey technical data and needs
- 6Strong commitment to safety documentation accuracy and adherence to maintenance procedures
- 7Time management and organizational skills
- 8Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other web-based applications
