Maintenance Mechanic, Beverages Packaging & PLC Tech
Overview
Maintenance Mechanic owns preventive and corrective maintenance on production line equipment at scale in a beverage packaging environment. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC related issues to keep lines running safely and efficiently. The role welcomes both experienced technicians and junior candidates with a solid technical foundation and strong work ethic. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and repair preventative maintenance on automated case packers, palletizers, labelers, hot fill equipment, and blow mold machines to reduce downtime
- 2Perform expert level root cause analysis on equipment issues and implement preventative strategies to lower downtime
- 3Carry out maintenance operations on beverage packaging lines ensuring scheduled PM tasks are completed on time
- 4Operate and maintain beverage processing equipment including blow molds, filling equipment, pasteurizers, labeling equipment, packaging equipment, film wrappers, palletizers, depalletizers, and conveyors
- 5Document completed work orders and parts used in the maintenance management system to maintain accurate inventory records
- 6Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout PPE machine guarding and hot work requirements
- 7Maintain a clean and safe work environment following GMPs SQF HACCP LOTO and general safety standards
- 8Keep accurate legible maintenance documentation and equipment work histories
- 9Engage in ongoing training on safety equipment operation and product handling to improve skills
- 10Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and support smooth line operations
Requirements10
- 1Hands on experience with electrical systems up to 480 V and safe work around high voltage equipment
- 2Work on three phase and single phase motors including installation troubleshooting and basic repair
- 3Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical issues on production line equipment
- 4Experience performing preventative maintenance on automated packaging and processing equipment
- 5Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical documentation
- 6Knowledge of pneumatics and troubleshooting pneumatic components
- 7Familiarity with PLCs basic interaction with control systems during troubleshooting
- 8Experience with beverage processing and packaging equipment such as blow molds filling labeling film wrapping palletizers depalletizers and conveyors
- 9Proficiency with maintenance management systems to document work orders parts usage and maintenance history
- 10Understanding of safety procedures LOTO PPE machine guarding hot work GMPs SQF HACCP and general workplace safety
