Overview

You'll own uptime for high-speed beverage production lines at Union Beverage Packers, keeping Sidel blow molders, fillers, conveyors, and palletizers running. This union shop runs 24/7 with shifts across all hours; the 3rd shift has spots open now. You'll collaborate with Maintenance, Production, QC, Sanitation, and vendors to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical failures fast. The role demands 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience and a mechanical mindset. You'll get overtime, union benefits, and the chance to master Sidel systems.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration failures on production equipment.
  • 2Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on machines, including Sidel blow molders, fillers, conveyors, and palletizers.
  • 3Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, completing work orders and documenting repairs in the CMMS.
  • 4Read mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals to troubleshoot and fix equipment issues.
  • 5Support production changeovers, installations, and start-ups, minimizing downtime during breakdowns.
  • 6Inspect equipment daily, reporting major problems to Maintenance leadership and escalating as needed.
  • 7Operate and adjust Sidel blow molding equipment (SBO, Matrix, Universal, Series 2) to maintain bottle quality.
  • 8Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure bottles meet specs, adjusting machine parameters and processes.
  • 9Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized, following all GMP, food safety, and PPE protocols.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, with beverage or packaging preferred.
  • 2Hands-on experience with Sidel blow molding equipment, including model changeovers and troubleshooting.
  • 3Strong mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills on production machinery.
  • 4Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • 5Experience with fillers, conveyors, palletizers, or packaging systems is a plus.
  • 6Familiarity with PLCs and automated production systems is preferred.
  • 7Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull for full shifts.
  • 8Willingness to work at least 48 hours per week, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • 9High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial maintenance is a plus.
  • 10Comfortable working in a warm, loud, wet environment and wearing all required PPE.
