Overview

You will own uptime for all plant production equipment at a Clackamas, OR food manufacturing site, ensuring electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems run without failure. You'll join a Union environment on 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am), troubleshooting VFD/PLC controls, robots, and boilers while executing preventative maintenance. This role stands out for its hands-on scope, from sanitary welding to fabrication, and the chance to convert to full-time with union membership.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Diagnose complex issues across conveyors, compressors, chillers, VFD/PLC systems, robots, boilers, and waste water equipment.
  • 2Execute Lockout/Tagout procedures and follow GMP and Global Food Safety practices on every task.
  • 3Perform changeovers and repairs on production machinery, referencing blueprints, electrical diagrams, and parts catalogs.
  • 4Dismantle and reassemble machines to replace defective parts, using hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • 5Weld mild steel and stainless steel with sanitary welding techniques for repairs and fabrications.
  • 6Monitor equipment through physical inspection, logging findings and completing work orders in the CMMS system.
  • 7Train operators on safe and efficient equipment operation, reducing spoilage and downtime.
  • 8Implement operational improvements to boost line speeds and reduce waste.
  • 9Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and spare parts procurement.
  • 10Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep spare parts inventory well-stocked.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • 2Proven mechanical and electrical repair skills, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • 3Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • 4Experience with fabrication and machine shop tools.
  • 5LME License preferred; OSHA 10 and CPR certification a plus.
  • 6Forklift certification preferred; will be certified at Albertsons facility.
  • 7High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 8Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • 9Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
