Maintenance Technician IFF Portland
Overview
IFF seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production equipment in Clackamas Oregon. This role offers a shift from 1pm to 9pm Monday Friday with an additional shift differential. You will maintain encapsulation and packaging equipment while collaborating with operators and vendors. The position requires adaptability to exceed standard hours and thrive in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do11
- 1Install and set up new equipment while adhering to safety standards
- 2Perform emergency repairs on plant utilities and mechanical systems
- 3Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical electrical pneumatic and electronic systems
- 4Conduct preventative maintenance on chillers boilers and electrical infrastructure
- 5Assist production teams to complete daily schedules and handle unscheduled breakdowns
- 6Vendor coordination for parts and supply procurement
- 7Prepare machinery for scheduled production runs
- 8Document observations to anticipate wear and prevent downtime
- 9Execute cGMP compliant maintenance procedures
- 10Pass all required job related certifications including FDA and cGMP training
- 11Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
Requirements8
- 1Minimum 4-5 years mechanical experience
- 2Valid driver’s license and forklift certification
- 3High school diploma or equivalent
- 4Ability to work flexible hours including on-call status
- 5Strong communication skills and cross-functional teamwork abilities
- 6Proven track record of reliability and commitment
- 7Experience with preventive maintenance protocols
- 8Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems
