Maintenance Shift Mechanic, Industrial Machinery
Overview
You will own uptime for high-speed production lines in a packaging plant, troubleshooting and repairing Husky injection and Sidel/Krones blow mold equipment. Report to the maintenance supervisor and collaborate with operators and engineers to reduce downtime. Your day starts with shift handoff and ends with machines running at full capacity. This role stands out because you'll train newer mechanics and earn certifications in Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space Entry.
What You'll Do8
- 1Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, locating root causes and fixing issues on Husky, Sidel, and Krones systems
- 2Dismantle and reassemble mechanical equipment, replacing defective parts with hand and power tools
- 3Order materials and parts for repairs, verifying specs against blueprints and equipment manuals
- 4Lubricate and clean machinery, performing preventive maintenance to extend equipment life
- 5Follow all safety protocols, wearing required PPE and participating in plant safety programs
- 6Maintain clean and organized work areas, disposing of waste and parts properly
- 7Train new and current team members on maintenance procedures and machine operations
- 8Learn new skills through available training, including HRIS systems and computer-based modules
Requirements9
- 15+ years maintenance experience in a high-speed production facility
- 2Hands-on experience with Husky injection molding machines, or equivalent
- 3Experience with Sidel and/or Krones blow mold equipment
- 4Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls, able to troubleshoot with schematics
- 5Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and equipment manuals
- 6Proficiency in shop math, using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- 7Ability to stand/walk on concrete, climb stairs/ladders up to 15 feet, and lift up to 75 pounds
- 8Must pass training in Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space Entry, and Forklift Safety
- 9Flexible to work all shifts, including weekends and overtime
