Maintenance Technician, Industrial Machinery Repair
Overview
You will own preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery at a high-volume manufacturing plant in Grandview, MO, with a direct impact on uptime and output. You join a team of 5+ skilled technicians under a maintenance supervisor, reporting on shift performance daily. Shifts rotate across all hours, with $30-$36/hr plus overtime. What You'll Do8
- 1Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production lines using hand and power tools and multimeters.
- 2Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on gearboxes, conveyors, and motors per schedule, logging work orders in CMMS.
- 3Repair or replace worn parts—belts, bearings, seals, and hydraulic components—on CNC and PLC-controlled equipment.
- 4Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose faults and plan repairs, ensuring OSHA compliance.
- 5Drive root-cause analysis on repeat failures, implementing fixes that reduce downtime by 15% within 90 days.
- 6Coordinate with production leads to minimize interruption, scheduling maintenance during changeovers and breaks.
- 7Document all maintenance actions, parts used, and downtime in the CMMS, contributing to reliability reports.
- 8Support installation and commissioning of new machinery as part of plant expansion projects.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- 2Proficiency with hand and power tools, multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging equipment.
- 3Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- 4Experience performing PMs on conveyors, motors, pumps, and gear reducers.
- 5Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues under time pressure, with a safety-first mindset.
- 6Willingness to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and available for overtime and weekend work as needed.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification (e.g., Industrial Maintenance Technician) preferred.
- 8Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
