Overview
Maintenance Mechanic owns the uptime and reliability of production machinery in a Sacramento industrial facility. You'll keep conveyors, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems running at peak performance. Working a steady 5 AM shift, you'll join a team of 2 mechanics focused on preventive care. What You'll Do10
- 1Inspect and service mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, and compressors, during the first 30 days.
- 2Diagnose equipment failures using multimeters and diagnostic software; repair bearings, belts, motors, and hydraulic components.
- 3Build a preventive maintenance schedule using CMMS to cut unplanned downtime by 20% in 90 days.
- 4Replace worn parts on pneumatic and electrical systems to factory specs.
- 5Maintain detailed logs of inspections, repairs, and part replacements in Maintenance Connection.
- 6Address facility issues: plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs.
- 7Enforce OSHA lockout/tagout and PPE rules during every shift.
- 8Partner with production staff to coordinate repairs without disrupting output.
- 9Train junior mechanics on hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting.
- 10Document equipment trends to forecast and prevent repeat failures.
Requirements8
- 13+ years as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial plant.
- 2High school diploma plus technical certification in mechanics or engineering.
- 3Proven skill with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- 4Read blueprints and schematics with precision.
- 5Use multimeters, calipers, and diagnostic tools daily.
- 6Physical ability: lift 50 lbs, stand 8 hours, work in confined spaces.
- 7Willingness to travel occasionally to other company sites.
