Maintenance Technician, Food Manufacturing & PLC Troubleshooting
Overview
The Maintenance Technician will own electrical, mechanical, and control systems across a food manufacturing line at scale, ensuring uptime and safety. You will collaborate with operators and a maintenance team to troubleshoot, repair, and improve equipment from conveyors to packaging machinery. This role emphasizes hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced facility and offers exposure to CMMS documentation, predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment
- 2Diagnose and repair motors, pumps, PLCs, HMIs, and control systems to achieve target line uptime
- 3Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and improve reliability
- 4Support changeovers and equipment setup to meet daily production goals
- 5Inspect and maintain auxiliary systems such as air compressors and water heaters
- 6Read schematics and wiring diagrams to identify issues and execute repairs
- 7Document maintenance work in CMMS and track corrective actions
- 8Collaborate with operators and maintenance team to communicate repair status and root causes
- 9Support equipment rebuilds, fabrication, and light welding for improvements
- 10Demonstrate safe work practices and adapt to 24/7 operations by shifting as needed
Requirements10
- 15+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing
- 2Proven experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems on production equipment
- 3Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- 4Hands-on experience with PLCs, motors, pumps, sensors, and automated equipment
- 5Experience working with electrical systems up to 480 volts and 3-phase power
- 6Proficiency with pneumatic systems and CMMS or similar work order systems
- 7Ability to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on diverse industrial equipment
- 8Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety and quality
- 9Comfort working in hot environments and around operating machinery
- 10Shift flexibility to support 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts
