Overview
You will transform high-quality, unique ingredients into authentic Italian dishes in Eataly's high-volume, open kitchens. Working with fresh pasta, imported cheeses, and house-made sauces, you'll prepare, cook, and plate menu items to exact standards. You'll report to the Sous Chef Manager and collaborate with a team of passionate cooks. This role stands out for its hands-on exposure to artisanal Italian food culture and daily family meals.
What You'll Do8
- 1Portion, cut, slice, dip, batter, bread, whip, beat, and maintain holding temperatures for menu items.
- 2Select cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game, or vegetables for frying or sautéing.
- 3Plate menu items with appropriate garnish to meet presentation standards.
- 4Follow recipes and comply with portion sizes, quality standards, and Department of Health regulations.
- 5Operate commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, and torches safely.
- 6Maintain a clean and organized station, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols.
- 7Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- 8Adapt to menu changes and seasonal ingredients, mastering new dishes quickly.
Requirements7
- 12+ years in a food preparation position.
- 2Strong knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly.
- 3Ability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 4Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- 5Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
- 6Comfort working with commercial equipment such as stand mixers, ovens, and torches.
- 7Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred.
