Lead IT Engineer Neurophos
Overview
We seek a Lead IT Engineer to own IT infrastructure at our Sunnyvale and Austin sites. You will architect and manage private cloud compute environments, identity platforms, and network design while leading the transition of MSP operations. This role defines the technical foundation as we scale from 50 to 150+ people.
What You'll Do28
- 1Install configure and maintain on-premises Linux servers and clusters supporting EDA/CAD tools
- 2Operate shared storage tiering snapshots and backup with durable scalable restore procedures
- 3Manage batch scheduling and resource sharing floating license servers and queue capacity planning
- 4Apply configuration management and infrastructure-as-code practices
- 5Own patch and lifecycle cadence for Linux instances
- 6Forecast compute storage and license demand ahead of program milestones
- 7Own SSO and identity provider administration in Okta application onboarding via SAML SCIM provisioning and MFA policy
- 8Administer GitHub Enterprise configuration and data governance for Google Workspace Dropbox and Atlassian
- 9Own configuration and data governance for Google Workspace and Drive Dropbox and Atlassian including sharing controls retention and external collaborator policy
- 10Administer cloud storage and compute including account project structure IAM networking and machine images
- 11Own cloud cost visibility spend control and reporting
- 12Manage hybrid connectivity between both sites and cloud environments
- 13Design and maintain wired and wireless network design including switching VLANs firewalls VPN and remote access
- 14Manage ISPs circuit provisioning and networking for new space and site build-outs
- 15Own wired and wireless network design at both sites
- 16Serve as single accountable owner of the MSP relationship including scope SLAs and escalation paths
- 17Audit MSP-delivered outcomes verify offboarding completeness patch coverage backup restores and endpoint compliance
- 18Own the insourcing roadmap recommending which functions move in-house and when
- 19Maintain full endpoint fleet across Mac Windows and Linux with standards imaging deployment configuration patching and refresh
- 20Administer mobile device management configuration profiles application deployment OS update enforcement and compliance reporting
- 21Build and maintain standard machine images and software bundles including engineering workstation builds
- 22Own endpoint procurement asset tracking warranty and spare strategy and secure disposal or wipe
- 23Provide escalation-tier support for endpoint issues the provider help desk cannot resolve especially on Linux and engineering-tool configurations
- 24Supply infrastructure evidence for security and customer compliance asset inventory logging access reviews and configuration baselines
- 25Implement access controls consistent with export control and customer data protection obligations
- 26Own conference room audio/visual and video conferencing standards for a two-site engineering team
- 27Work with Lead Security Engineer who owns security policy threat detection incident command and compliance program
- 28Report to SVP of Engineering
Requirements16
- 18+ years in IT engineering systems administration or infrastructure operations
- 2Strong hands-on Linux administration including installation storage networking package and configuration management
- 3Proven ownership of SSO/IdP administration including Okta SCIM provisioning and MFA policies
- 4Practical network engineering ability covering switching VLANs enterprise Wi-Fi firewall policy VPN and DNS/DHCP
- 5Hands-on administration of mixed macOS and Windows fleets including imaging patching encryption and compliance enforcement
- 6Working proficiency with at least one major public cloud such as Azure
- 7Demonstrated success managing an MSP or outsourced IT function with provider scope and SLA accountability
- 8Interest in growing into ownership of the IT function including hiring and developing a small team
- 9Scripting and automation fluency treating infrastructure as code
- 10Sound judgment about automation buy-in and delegation to providers
- 11Communication skills to explain trade-offs to engineering leadership
- 12Preference for semiconductor or hardware engineering experience with EDA/CAD environments license servers and large simulation farms
- 13GitHub Enterprise administration and developer platform operations experience
- 14Experience building IT operations from near-zero including second-site office or lab build-out
- 15Familiarity with SOC 2 NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001 control evidence
- 16High-performance networking experience including RDMA over Converged Ethernet or InfiniBand

$180 - $235k per year
