What You'll Do7

  • 1Manage a caseload of 30-50 active insurance defense files from intake to resolution
  • 2Draft and argue dispositive motions, including summary judgment and motions to dismiss
  • 3Take and defend depositions in Texas state courts and federal courts
  • 4Attend hearings, mediations, and status conferences, representing clients before judges and arbitrators
  • 5Communicate with clients, carriers, and claims adjusters to align on case strategy and budgets
  • 6Conduct legal research and write demand letters, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • 7Collaborate with senior partners to develop trial strategy and prepare for trial

Requirements7

  • 13-10 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense
  • 2Active Texas Bar license in good standing
  • 3Strong legal writing and analytical skills, demonstrated through motion practice
  • 4Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple priorities
  • 5Experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis for legal research
  • 6Trial experience is a plus, including second-chair or first-chair roles
  • 7Familiarity with civil procedure and evidence rules in Texas
