What You'll Do6
- 1Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda for complex civil litigation cases.
- 2Produce and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions, hitting court deadlines.
- 3Conduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis to build case strategies.
- 4Take and defend depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
- 5Analyze client documents to craft case evaluations and status reports for partner review.
- 6Participate in mediations and argue motions in Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts.
Requirements6
- 12+ years defending civil litigation matters, with insurance defense experience preferred.
- 2Licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts (additional admissions a plus).
- 3Proven track record managing multiple case files simultaneously.
- 4Strong legal research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication for client and court interactions.
- 6Knowledge of state and federal court procedures and filing rules.
