Overview
We seek a motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The role involves managing a diverse caseload including personal injury and criminal defense cases. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional legal judgment client advocacy and professional ethics.
What You'll Do9
- 1Manage a caseload of civil and criminal litigation matters from intake through resolution including personal injury and criminal defense cases
- 2Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda briefs motions and discovery responses
- 3Draft and file court documents attend hearings client interviews mediations and depositions representing clients in court as needed
- 4Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys preparing trial exhibits witness examinations and trial notebooks
- 5Communicate clearly with clients opposing counsel court personnel and expert witnesses providing regular case updates and billing records
- 6Handle all aspects of discovery including drafting and responding to interrogatories requests for production subpoenas and coordinating document review
- 7Negotiate settlements and plea agreements prioritizing client outcomes and risk management
- 8Maintain accurate case files billing entries and comply with firm policies and ethical rules meeting deadlines and court-imposed schedules
- 9Participate in client development intake interviews and community outreach to grow the practice
Requirements6
- 1Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- 23+ years of litigation experience preferred with strong preference for criminal defense and personal injury law
- 3Proficiency with legal research tools Westlaw LexisNexis and case management software
- 4Flexible hours and willingness to travel to court depositions and client meetings
- 5Current authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa
