What You'll Do7

  • 1Research Texas laws and draft legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda on liability, damages, and value.
  • 2Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath.
  • 3Defend assigned cases at trial or dispositive hearings, presenting arguments and evidence.
  • 4Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • 5Document case files clearly and professionally, detailing strategy, developments, and outcomes.
  • 6Collaborate with claims adjusters and provide legal guidance on insurance coverage disputes.
  • 7Travel as needed for trials, hearings, and depositions across Texas.

Requirements8

  • 17+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense, personal injury, or civil defense.
  • 2Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing.
  • 4Familiarity with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and evidentiary rules.
  • 5Strong legal research and writing skills with a track record of persuasive briefs.
  • 6Experience conducting depositions and defending trials.
  • 7Excellent communication and negotiation skills for client and court interactions.
  • 8Ability to handle a high-volume caseload independently.
