Overview

As an Instructional Assistant in Student Services at Kirkland Ranch K8, you will support teachers and staff in delivering academic and behavioral programs to students. You will organize instructional materials, implement classroom strategies, and perform clerical duties to keep school operations running. What You'll Do8

  • 1Assist teachers in delivering instructional activities and implementing behavioral plans for students, adapting materials as needed.
  • 2Organize and prepare classroom materials and learning resources to support daily lessons and activities.
  • 3Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning objectives and provide additional support.
  • 4Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and positive behavior.
  • 5Record student progress and behavioral data, and report observations to the lead teacher.
  • 6Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, and maintaining student records.
  • 7Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • 8Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements8

  • 1Associate Degree, completion of 60 semester hours of college, or a passing score of 457 on the ParaPro Test.
  • 2Ability to pass a Level II background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse.
  • 3Completion of all required training and mandated health requirements.
  • 4Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred).
  • 5Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, teachers, and parents.
  • 6Basic computer proficiency for record keeping and communication.
  • 7Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team.
  • 8Physical ability to assist students with mobility and classroom activities.
