Overview
Group Leader at Pasco Learning and Activity Centers of Enrichment (PLACE) supervises K-12 students in before and after school programs. You work 6 hours daily, 196 days per year, at Pine View Elementary. The role focuses on guiding student enrichment and safety. Strong First Aid, CPR, and AED skills are essential.
What You'll Do10
- 1Supervise groups of K-12 students during enrichment activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
- 2Plan daily activities that align with PLACE program goals, incorporating First Aid and CPR protocols as needed.
- 3Communicate with parents and school staff about student progress and needs, using email and phone.
- 4Manage materials and supplies for activities, maintaining inventory with spreadsheets.
- 5Respond to incidents and emergencies using CPR and AED training, documenting with incident reports.
- 6Facilitate smooth transitions between before and after school care, coordinating with teachers and bus schedules.
- 7Support students with homework and skill-building, using Google Classroom for assignments.
- 8Drive program improvements by collecting feedback and adjusting activities, monitored through surveys.
- 9Ensure compliance with district policies, including background screening and nondiscrimination guidelines.
- 10Assist in setup and cleanup of activity spaces, maintaining a safe environment with checklists.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- 2Complete American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses within 30 days of hire.
- 3Be at least 18 years of age.
- 4Pass Level II background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse.
- 5Available to work 6 hours daily for 196 days in a 10-month program.
- 6Experience working with K-12 students in a group setting.
- 7Knowledge of First Aid and CPR procedures for emergency response.
- 8Ability to supervise children effectively, ensuring safety and engagement.
- 9Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.
- 10Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with parents and staff.
