Instructional Assistant, ESL Supported Classroom
Overview
Supports daily educational learning by aiding teachers and students in a campus classroom at Maryvale High School. Works under the guidance of the teacher or Instructional Leader to prepare materials, monitor student progress, and provide targeted small-group instruction. Helps with test administration, data collection, and records maintenance while upholding confidentiality and professional conduct. This role focuses on contributing to a thriving learning environment and requires collaboration with staff, students, and families.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and deliver individualized or small group instruction to reinforce lessons
- 2Monitor student engagement during lessons and adjust strategies to improve focus
- 3Assist teachers with preparing materials and ensuring supplies are available
- 4Participate in test administration and accurately record results
- 5Maintain student folders and records, collect and report progress data
- 6Support classroom discipline and redirect students as needed

Requirements5
- 1High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 2Some previous classroom experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 3Meets federal and state educational and testing requirements
- 4Second language preferred for ESL assignments
- 5Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures
