Overview
Owns instructional support for students with reading difficulties in small groups and one on one, under the reading teacher's supervision. Collaborates with students, parents, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment. Uses word processing on personal computers to assist instruction. Brings experience with children and a proactive approach to classroom activities. This role centers on practical, hands on support in a school setting and offers opportunities to impact student reading progress.
What You'll Do9
- 1Assist the teacher in implementing the instructional program under direct or indirect supervision
- 2Work with students one to one and in small groups to support reading development
- 3Create and assemble instructional materials and resources
- 4Monitor student activities in classroom, on playground, and on bus
- 5Follow teacher directions to maintain a consistent discipline program for students
- 6Observe, monitor, and record student progress
- 7Operate equipment such as computer, telephone, printer, television, and copy machine
- 8Apply safety precautions as outlined in MSDS
- 9Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors

- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Works with students in small groups including students with reading difficulties
- 3Ability to use word processing on personal computers
- 4Experience with children preferred
- 5Willingness to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ under supervision of reading teacher
