Hybrid Microelectronics Assembly Operator
Overview
You will own die attach, wire bonding, and fly wire operations for high-reliability hybrid circuits in aerospace, defense, and medical device applications. Working under a Senior Hybrid Operator, you will advance from foundational builds to complex MIL-STD-883 assemblies. This role offers hands-on growth in a cleanroom environment with certification support toward IPC standards.
What You'll Do10
- 1Perform die attach operations using epoxy and eutectic methods on ceramic substrates and hybrid circuits, escalating complex builds to senior staff.
- 2Execute wire bonding with gold and aluminum wedge or ball methods to MIL-STD-883 standards.
- 3Install fly wire jumpers and perform tack wire bonding or staking for circuit interconnects.
- 4Solder fine-pitch components, leads, and interconnects under microscope magnification.
- 5Assist with lid seal operations using seam seal, parallel seam welding, or solder seal under supervision.
- 6Conduct in-process visual inspections per IPC or MIL specifications.
- 7Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions for accurate builds.
- 8Maintain detailed documentation and travelers for traceability of each assembly.
- 9Alert Senior Operator to process issues and support troubleshooting efforts.
- 10Keep an ESD-safe workstation and follow all safety protocols.
Requirements10
- 12-5 years hands-on experience in hybrid microelectronics assembly.
- 2Working proficiency in die attach, wire bonding, and fly wire or tack wire methods.
- 3Exposure to soldering and lid seal processes, with independence preferred.
- 4Familiarity with MIL-STD-883, J-STD-001, or IPC-A-610 standards.
- 5Ability to work under high magnification for extended periods.
- 6Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for fine-pitch work.
- 7Willingness to learn from and take direction from senior technical staff.
- 8Preferred: IPC certification or progress toward certification.
- 9Preferred: Experience in government or defense contract manufacturing.
- 10Preferred: Prior work in a cleanroom or controlled environment.
