Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician
Overview
You will own assembly and test of complex electro-mechanical products on our Pilot Production Line, working from engineering drawings to build ordnance systems with near-zero defects. You will join a small team of technicians and engineers in Minneapolis, supporting new product transitions and continuous improvement. This role stands out for its focus on micro/nano scale fabrication and J-STD-001 compliance, requiring precision and a high mechanical aptitude. You will troubleshoot assembly issues, generate test reports, and maintain a safe work environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Assemble and test complex electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies on ordnance systems, following engineering drawings and work instructions.
- 2Use electronic test equipment (scopes, meters) to conduct tests and generate test report data.
- 3Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches for repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations.
- 4Perform precision micro/nano scale fabrication, assembly, and test with near-zero defects.
- 5Troubleshoot and problem-solve assembly and test issues in collaboration with team members.
- 6Apply J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 standards to manufacturing and quality requirements.
- 7Assist in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities during new product introductions.
- 8Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety objectives and policies.
- 9Work additional hours including weekends when required.
Requirements8
- 12-year technical degree or 2+ years as a technician in production or prototype environment.
- 2Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
- 3Demonstrated high degree of mechanical aptitude and knowledge of J-STD-001 requirements.
- 4Skilled in using electronic test equipment such as scopes and meters.
- 5Ability to use mechanical assembly and measurement tools such as micrometers and torque wrenches.
- 6Precision and fine motor skills for micro/nano scale fabrication with near-zero defects.
- 7Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- 8Ability to lift up to 35 lb.
