Overview
Own the coordination of HVAC project tasks at scale for hospital and large facility projects in Houston. Lead VDC coordination to ensure cost, schedule, document control, and quality standards are met across multiple offices. Drive field and office collaboration to keep projects on track and deliverables on time. This role blends project management rigor with hands-on coordination across CAD/BIM and field teams.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and manage RFI submission process and As-Built drawings to maintain current project documentation
- 2Lead kickoff meetings with office and field teams to align on scope, schedule, and deliverables
- 3Coordinate the release of duct equipment with VDC confirmation and assist with equipment take-offs
- 4Oversee day-to-day operations and maintain a lean project team by optimizing field manpower and rental equipment
- 5Track change proposals, vendor quotes, and cost proposals to keep projects within budget
- 6Maintain Smartsheet project sheets, leakage logs, and daily field documentation for each project
- 7Communicate schedule updates to foremen at least three times per week and update the project schedule accordingly
- 8Ensure on-time delivery by following up with vendors for missing or damaged material and tracking packing slips
- 9Lead document control processes including monthly RFI Logs, Change Proposal Logs, and subcontractor submittals
- 10Coordinate with field on deliveries, batch priorities, and new project scheduling to support smooth rough-ins
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 5+ years building HVAC projects or equivalent in sheet metal environments
- 2Experience coordinating with VDC/BIM teams and field foremen on large-scale projects
- 3Proficient in Smartsheet or similar project management software
- 4Ability to manage RFI, change proposals, and vendor communication effectively
- 5Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for document control and scheduling
