HVAC Area Service Manager - Nextech
Overview
Own the technical workforce and service quality for your assigned area at Nextech, the largest HVAC/R service provider in the US. You'll lead a team of 10+ technicians, ensure they hit productivity goals, and resolve field escalations. You'll shape technician development through training plans and annual reviews, and partner with the Operating Manager on hiring forecasts. What You'll Do10
- 1Recruit and hire Technicians to match market needs, partnering with the Operating Manager on forecasts.
- 2Develop and execute training plans for all assigned Technicians using Nextech materials to boost skill levels.
- 3Perform ride-alongs with Technicians to evaluate technical proficiency and provide real-time coaching.
- 4Conduct weekly service meetings to communicate goals, share performance scorecards, and recognize top performers.
- 5Inspect vans and equipment at service meetings for safety and maintenance, covering PPE and oil life.
- 6Resolve escalated field and technician issues locally, protecting the company's image and reputation.
- 7Lead annual Technician reviews with VP approval, setting clear performance expectations.
- 8Maintain local customer relationships with RSMs and Account Managers to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- 9Review callbacks and additional repairs to improve quality and reduce repeat issues.
- 10Enforce company policies and safety standards, serving as a role model for the technician group.
Requirements10
- 110+ years as an HVAC Service Technician, with management experience a plus.
- 2Technical knowledge in HVAC/R systems to guide technicians and customers effectively.
- 3Continuous education in the technical field to stay current with industry standards.
- 4Strong attention to detail and quality in all work performed.
- 5Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- 6Ability to conduct professional conversations with customers and resolve concerns locally.
- 7Focus on desired results and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- 8Clean and professional appearance representing Nextech.
- 9Willingness to travel as needed for market support.
