Human Resources Manager, Payroll & Compliance
Overview
Own the full employee lifecycle and payroll operations at Roeschke Law, a growing Social Security Disability firm in Tempe, AZ. You will manage recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and bi-weekly payroll for a team of legal professionals. What You'll Do10
- 1Recruit, interview, and hire employees, coordinating onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- 2Manage disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with company policies and employment laws.
- 3Maintain confidential personnel files and HR records, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.
- 4Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, aligning with federal, state, and local regulations.
- 5Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule, verifying time and attendance records.
- 6Resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
- 7Respond to employee questions on HR policies, benefits, and employment matters.
- 8Assist management with performance reviews, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
- 9Prepare HR reports, support audits, and manage record retention and compliance reporting.
- 10Coordinate with payroll providers and benefit administrators for seamless administration.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of experience in human resources and payroll administration.
- 2Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- 3Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- 4Experience processing payroll and managing time and attendance systems.
- 5Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- 6High discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- 7Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll software.
- 8Preferred: HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) and experience with ADP or Paychex.
- 9Preferred: Experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
