HR Talent Management Coordinator, Payroll & Benefits
Overview
You will own bi-weekly payroll and benefits administration for Arizona Autism Charter Schools, ensuring accurate and timely processing for 250+ employees across multiple campuses. Reporting to the HR Director, you will collaborate with the HR Generalist and HR Assistant to support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. This role requires 4+ years of HR experience with direct payroll and benefits processing, plus proficiency in HRIS platforms like BambooHR and timekeeping systems like StratusTime. You will also coordinate annual open enrollment, benefits billing reconciliation, and compliance reporting, making you a key link between employees and carriers. Your work directly supports a mission-driven organization dedicated to students with autism.
What You'll Do9
- 1Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using HRIS and timekeeping systems, reviewing timesheets for accuracy, and resolving discrepancies before submission.
- 2Administer employee benefits, including new-hire enrollment, qualifying life events, and terminations, coordinating with brokers and carriers to resolve eligibility issues.
- 3Maintain HRIS records, ensuring data integrity across payroll, benefits, and timekeeping platforms, and conduct routine audits to correct errors.
- 4Support annual open enrollment by preparing communications, updating systems, and tracking employee completion, and assist with ACA and COBRA compliance.
- 5Serve as the primary contact for employee questions on payroll, timekeeping, and benefits, providing clear guidance and escalating complex issues to the HR Director.
- 6Assist with onboarding by enrolling new hires in benefits, setting up timekeeping access, and explaining HR processes during orientation.
- 7Reconcile monthly benefits invoices by comparing carrier billing with payroll deductions, investigating discrepancies, and escalating unresolved issues.
- 8Support recruiting and staffing during peak hiring periods, handling background checks and new-hire paperwork.
- 9Prepare HR reports on headcount, payroll, and benefits data for leadership, and participate in compliance audits by gathering documentation.
Requirements8
- 14+ years of HR experience, including direct payroll processing and benefits administration.
- 2Working knowledge of HRIS platforms such as BambooHR and timekeeping systems like StratusTime.
- 3High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in HR or related field preferred.
- 4Experience with payroll systems and benefits administration, including reconciliations and compliance reporting.
- 5Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- 6Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for reporting and communication.
- 7Experience in K-12 education, charter schools, or nonprofit organizations preferred.
- 8Certification in HR, payroll, or benefits (e.g., PHR, CPP) is a plus.
