HR Business Partner, Senior Living & Payroll
Overview
Own HR operations for a luxury senior living community in Austin, TX, supporting 150+ employees. You'll manage payroll, compliance, and employee relations while partnering with local leaders and the home office to drive performance. This role stands out for its strategic scope: you'll shape people practices and policies that affect resident care and team retention. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus, and you'll have room to earn it within 1-2 years.
What You'll Do10
- 1Deliver day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions, anticipating outcomes with minimal direction.
- 2Audit eTime timekeeping practices weekly, tracking vacation, sick time, and overtime for the Flash Report.
- 3Process HR and payroll transactions in partnership with the payroll department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- 4Oversee new hire onboarding, including pre-employment screenings and E-Verify processing.
- 5Maintain precise electronic and paper employee files, ensuring audit-ready documentation.
- 6Investigate complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective reviews with little supervision.
- 7Design and execute employee-centered initiatives that boost individual and team performance, aligned with business needs.
- 8Collaborate with stakeholders such as home office HR, payroll, talent acquisition, and workers' compensation to resolve issues.
- 9Manage uniform, name tag, and business card orders, plus report resident and employee incidents promptly to the Executive Director.
- 10Serve on the community safety committee, maintaining a secure environment for residents and staff.
Requirements6
- 13+ years of human resources experience; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, but a combination of experience and education is acceptable.
- 2Prior experience in senior living, restaurant, or hospitality is preferred.
- 3PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain within 1-2 years.
- 4Working knowledge of talent management, compliance, employee relations, and organizational development.
- 5In-depth understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- 6Proficiency with HRIS and E-Verify systems, including timekeeping tools like eTime.
