Overview
As the Host, you own the first and last impression of Won't Stop Hospitality, a high-volume restaurant in Indianapolis. You greet every guest, manage the flow of seating, and keep the front of house organized across the OpenTable reservation system. You work closely with the service team and managers to balance sections during peak hours, ensuring a smooth dining experience. This role suits an energetic, detail-oriented professional who thrives on creating a welcoming atmosphere.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet each guest with eye contact and a smile, then determine the most efficient seating to balance server sections.
- 2Manage the OpenTable reservation system, answering phone calls and responding to guest inquiries with accuracy.
- 3Maintain an accurate waitlist, quoting realistic wait times and updating guests as service flow changes.
- 4Coordinate seating flow with the service and management teams, communicating needs in real time.
- 5Assist the service staff with bussing, cleaning, and resetting tables to maximize seating efficiency.
- 6Observe guest body language and dining pace, then proactively alert service staff to unspoken needs.
- 7Close each guest's visit with a warm farewell and invite them to return.
- 8Stay composed and welcoming during peak service periods, keeping the entry organized and clean.
Requirements8
- 1Previous restaurant or hospitality experience with a focus on guest interaction.
- 2Basic understanding of food handling, sanitation, and prep procedures.
- 3Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- 4Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to coordinate with the team.
- 5Comfort with OpenTable or similar reservation software, or ability to learn quickly.
- 6Reasoning skills to apply common sense, define problems, and notify management when necessary.
- 7Ability to perform simple math for waitlist and seating calculations.
- 8Flexibility to re-prioritize tasks instantly during high-volume periods.
