Highway Designer
Overview
Water Resources Engineer / Designer leading stormwater and drainage design for transportation infrastructure. This hybrid role supports resilient and sustainable projects across highways railroads and bridges. Candidates will drive technical solutions that reduce flooding improve drainage and protect transportation networks.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design highway and roadway drainage systems and Green Infrastructure stormwater management facilities
- 2Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and support watershed modeling
- 3Assist with hydraulic modeling for bridge and culvert replacement projects
- 4Support bridge scour analyses and develop scour countermeasures
- 5Prepare construction plans calculations and technical reports
- 6Manage stormwater erosion and sediment control drainage design
- 7Contribute to environmental permit applications and documentation
- 8Coordinate with roadway bridge environmental and project disciplines
- 9Review project data design criteria and agency standards
- 10Participate in project meetings and support engineering design tasks
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- 21+ year experience in stormwater drainage water resources or transportation engineering
- 3Proficiency with MicroStation and hydrologic hydraulic modeling software
- 4Strong understanding of stormwater management drainage hydrology and hydraulics
- 5Experience preparing engineering calculations plans and technical documentation
- 6Familiarity with transportation projects and applicable design standards
- 7Analytical problem solving and communication skills
- 8Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
- 9Interest in developing expertise in stormwater transportation engineering
Salary Insight
$65 - $97k per year
