Highway Civil Engineer
Overview
Lead development and review of engineering designs for railway and highway infrastructure projects. Analyze existing conditions and create designs for new construction and renovation. Ensure compliance with codes and standards. Provide mentorship and coordinate project deliverables.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop detailed engineering designs for tunnels roadways bridges and streetscapes
- 2Perform highway design street design and civil heavy infrastructure according to AASHTO guidelines
- 3Create traffic control plans using MUTCD
- 4Manage sub-consultants conduct site inspections monitor budgets and prepare cost estimates
- 5Supervise junior engineers review shop drawings and perform structure inspections
- 6Identify engineering challenges and propose efficient solutions
- 7Coordinate project deliverables track progress and assist in scheduling
- 8Prepare technical proposals and negotiate contracts
- 9Travel to project sites within Texas and remote locations
- 10Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation OpenRoads AutoTurns Corridor design Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Planner and Bluebeam
- 11Apply knowledge of SWPPP ESC and erosion sediment control plans
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with minimum five years progressive experience
- 2Professional Engineer license for Texas state
- 3Approximately five years experience in highway street civil heavy infrastructure design
- 4Expertise in AASHTO Green Book and related manuals
- 5Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation OpenRoads AutoTurns Corridor design Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Planner and Bluebeam
- 6Experience with MSET calculations and cost estimating
- 7Ability to travel up to two days per week to project sites
- 8Master’s degree optional with relevant coursework
- 95+ years of progressive experience in designated fields
