What You'll Do8
- 1Develop detailed highway designs and calculations using AutoCAD and MicroStation from concept through final deliverables.
- 2Produce engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports that meet project requirements and client standards.
- 3Coordinate with project managers to align design tasks with schedules, budgets, and scope for Minneapolis-based projects.
- 4Review and quality-check your own and others' discipline-specific deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- 5Mentor junior engineers by reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback on design approaches.
- 6Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to integrate highway designs with structural, drainage, and traffic elements.
- 7Assist in developing project specifications and ensure they align with AASHTO and local standards.
- 8Manage time and forecast project needs, communicating risks and progress to keep teams on track.
Requirements8
- 14+ years of relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or 3+ years with a Master's, or 2+ years with a PhD.
- 2Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MicroStation or AutoCAD for design production.
- 3Strong understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles as applied to highway design.
- 4Ability to independently progress most design tasks and deliverables within the discipline.
- 5Experience optimizing work processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
- 6Track record of managing time, forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
- 7Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
- 8EIT certification preferred; PE certification a plus; AICP certification depending on discipline.
