Safety Project Engineer, Tampa Transportation Infrastructure
Overview
This role owns the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans for large-scale infrastructure projects at HNTB. You will consult with project managers to drive research, development, and delivery across projects of varying complexity. Our team values creative problem-solving and close collaboration with clients and teeming partners. You will also mentor junior engineers and guide multidisciplinary coordination. What You'll Do8
- 1Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations for transportation projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- 2Lead planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget.
- 3Coordinate technical aspects of projects with client counterparts and teeming partners at staff level.
- 4Prepare high-quality design deliverables that meet scope and budget, using MicroStation and ProjectWise.
- 5Assist in proposal generation and marketing efforts, contributing to business development.
- 6Guide and mentor junior engineers, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
- 7Perform QA/QC on design calculations and engineering plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- 8Collaborate with multiple disciplines on multi-discipline projects, facilitating effective work planning.
Requirements6
- 16+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or 5+ years with a Master's degree, or 4+ years with a PhD.
- 2Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- 3American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).
- 4Experience in transportation infrastructure projects and civil engineering design.
- 5Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D software.
- 6Strong understanding of design criteria and engineering techniques for complex projects.
