Head of Market Operations - San Francisco
Overview
You will be a confident decisive results-oriented leader who owns end-to-end performance of the SFBA Ride-hail commercial operations and serves as the primary architect of operational success. This hybrid role reports to the Head of Market Operations - West and drives strategic market expansion infrastructure orchestration cross-functional execution stakeholder diplomacy supply/demand harmonization strategic leadership cost optimization. You will inspire cross-functional teams to deliver safe reliable high-quality autonomous ride-hailing service while balancing on-the-ground service reliability with long-term scalability.
What You'll Do11
- 1Orchestrate daily/weekly market reviews and business-critical stand-ups to align multifunctional teams with ambitious performance targets
- 2Institutionalize rigorous Corrective and Preventive Action frameworks to systematically address performance gaps and ensure long-term operational excellence
- 3Champion end-to-end execution of market readiness protocols and high-stakes go/no-go reviews for territory expansion
- 4Oversee depot readiness audits and site enablement milestones optimizing fleet flow and turnaround times within depots
- 5Drive weekly syncs with Engineering Product and Policy to resolve blockers and manage vendor performance against rigorous SLAs
- 6Lead a diverse team to monitor real-time supply-demand mismatch and adjust fleet allocation hours of operation or geographic zones to optimize balance
- 7Develop and implement comprehensive market strategy focused on growth and profitability while managing departmental budgets and resource allocation
- 8Work cross-functionally to develop and execute market strategy driven by extensive leadership experience and proven ability to scale operations
- 9Manage multi-vendor operations ensuring third-party execution aligns with safety quality and performance standards across the market
- 10Distill complex technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences and make high-stakes data-driven decisions in fast-paced environments
- 11Foster inclusive operational excellence by developing high-performing diverse teams and maintaining strong strategic relationships with internal executives external partners and community leaders
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 210+ years of experience in operations management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- 3Strategic Execution demonstrated ability to develop and execute market strategies drive large-scale performance improvements
- 4Strategic Fiscal Stewardship expertise overseeing substantial departmental budgets and complex P&Ls
- 5Multi-Vendor Operations Management extensive experience managing highly complex multi-vendor operations
- 6Lean/Six Sigma Certification proficiency in Lean methodology or Six Sigma frameworks
- 7Crisis Management experience leading incident response and Business Continuity Plans
- 8Stakeholder Mastery exceptional ability to build and maintain strategic relationships
- 9Cross-Functional Execution proven ability to drive weekly syncs with Engineering Product and Policy
- 10Supply/Demand Harmonization track record of adjusting fleet allocation hours of operation or geographic zones to optimize balance
- 11Communication Excellence superior verbal and written communication skills
