Overview

As a Greeter at Red White and Blue Thrift, you'll own the customer's first impression and the store's loss prevention frontline in a high-traffic Miami retail environment. Reporting to the store leadership team, you'll work alongside a collaborative staff of 5+ team members to keep the sales floor safe, welcoming, and theft-resistant. You'll greet every shopper, enforce bag policies, and monitor activity—all while delivering exceptional customer service that turns first-time visitors into regulars. What You'll Do9

  • 1Greet and welcome every customer entering the store, creating a friendly and positive first impression that sets the tone for their visit.
  • 2Monitor the sales floor for potential loss prevention issues, identifying and addressing suspicious behavior within the first 30 days of training.
  • 3Enforce store policy by politely asking customers to leave large bags or backpacks at the counter, reducing theft risk.
  • 4Assist customers by answering questions and directing them to product areas, improving their shopping experience and reducing staff interruptions.
  • 5Collaborate with store staff to report incidents and implement loss prevention protocols, ensuring a secure environment.
  • 6Maintain a visible presence at the entrance to deter theft, promoting safety for customers and team members.
  • 7Stay informed on best practices for loss prevention and apply them in daily interactions.
  • 8Adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing closed-toe shoes, to prevent accidents and maintain a safe workspace.
  • 9Adapt to shifting tasks or departments as operational needs change, supporting team flexibility across the store.

Requirements10

  • 1High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required for entry-level candidates.
  • 21+ year of customer service or retail experience preferred, demonstrating ability to interact with diverse customers.
  • 3Strong interpersonal and communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere and de-escalate conflicts.
  • 4Awareness of loss prevention best practices and ability to remain vigilant in a busy retail space.
  • 5Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the store throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • 6Capability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively, such as managing unruly customers or potential theft.
  • 7Basic understanding of store policies and procedures, including bag storage and entry restrictions.
  • 8Physical stamina to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs and perform repetitive motions like reaching and grasping.
  • 9Visual acuity to see clearly at both 20 inches and 20 feet for monitoring the sales floor.
  • 10Flexibility to work in a noisy, brightly lit environment and switch tasks as assigned by leadership.
