Merchandise Associate, Retail Store Operations
Overview
You will own the customer experience at HomeGoods, engaging every shopper and maintaining a clean, organized store. You will execute merchandising standards, process sales, and support loss prevention across the sales floor. What You'll Do8
- 1Engage customers warmly, assess their needs, and deliver a service that keeps them coming back.
- 2Ring purchases and returns accurately, counting change back per procedure while promoting HomeGoods credit and loyalty programs.
- 3Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company standards, ensuring displays are shoppable.
- 4Maintain store recovery throughout the day, keeping the sales floor tidy and organized.
- 5Uphold TJX loss prevention standards and support shrink reduction goals.
- 6Cross-train across store areas to support peak hours and business needs.
- 7Participate in safety awareness, keeping the environment hazard-free.
- 8Provide and accept feedback constructively, contributing to a positive store culture.
Requirements9
- 11+ years in retail or customer service, with proven ability to interact positively with diverse customers.
- 2Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- 3Capable of multi-tasking in a busy store, adjusting to shifting priorities.
- 4Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) with or without accommodation.
- 5Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- 6Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to TJX values of honesty and integrity.
- 7Basic math skills for cash handling and returns.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent.
- 9Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the store.
