Float Teacher, Early Childhood Education & Clinton Hill
Overview
The Float Teacher will support multiple classrooms in a vibrant early childhood program serving children in Brooklyn at scale. You will collaborate with lead teachers and a dedicated team to deliver developmentally appropriate activities. This role emphasizes hands-on learning, strong safety practices, and communication with families, with opportunities for growth within a team focused on quality care.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build engaging, play-based activities that align with lesson plans and support focus areas
- 2Design and implement classroom activities across age groups to reinforce early learning goals
- 3Support lead teachers in planning and executing daily routines and lessons
- 4Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children
- 5Engage with families during pick-up and drop-off to share updates on development
- 6Maintain a clean, organized classroom and adhere to safety protocols
- 7Collaborate in staff meetings and professional development sessions
- 8Assist with behavior guidance and positive reinforcement techniques
- 9Provide timely documentation of activities and student progress
- 10Support the coordination of on-site events and parent communication
Requirements10
- 1High School diploma or equivalent
- 2Previous experience with young children and a passion for early childhood education
- 3Background checks as required by state regulations
- 4CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- 5Availability Monday-Friday 11:30am-6:00pm
- 6Ability to work onsite in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn
- 7Strong communication skills with parents and guardians
- 8Comfort with a dynamic, supportive team environment
- 9Commitment to safety and classroom cleanliness
- 10Willingness to participate in ongoing staff development
Salary Insight
$35 - $40k per year
